What is a construction induction?

A construction induction is used to equip new as well as existing workers with the skills they need to comprehend the basic knowledge that is required to work in the building and construction industry. This covers anyone who is involved in construction work which incorporates repairing, cleaning, painting, excavation, demolition, roadworks, laying pipes, laying underground cables etcetera. It informs and educates all employees about relevant occupational health and safety regulations and requirements. It also covers how to manage risks and hazards as well as illness at both a personal and workplace level. However, it is not intended to be a replacement for any workplace instruction, training or supervision.
